Hello from Lady Lou!

Have you ever caught yourself saying old exclamations, such as, “Well, I’ll be d_ _ _ed!”? OOOPS! I said this just the other day about something. Cannot even remember why I said it now. My dear friend, Carol, patted my arm and reminded me of what I had just said.

I immediately realized what I had done. Oh, my! Why would I want to ‘d_ _ _ myself? DUH! I quickly rephrased and canceled the words. I’ve been taught I have 17 seconds to do this so it doesn’t sink into my subconscious mind. WHEW! I erased those words and said a very positive phrase – “Well, I’ll be BLESSED!” Much better!

All of us can get into this bad habit of repeating phrases we have heard all our lives. Usually we are not even aware of what we are doing. I have made the conscious decision to release this habit ‘with love.’ By not condemning myself for doing this, I love and approve of myself for doing better from now on.

Think back and discover which old sayings you have used from time to time. I’ve been known to use “What’s the use?” and “I’m not good enough.” “I don’t deserve ________.” (fill in the blank), “I can’t!” “I’m a klutz!” “I never do anything right.” I could go on and on, but you get the point.

Many of us program negativity into our conscious and subconscious minds, often without realizing it. This behavior does not serve us. It eventually tears down our self-confidence and self-esteem. QUIT IT!

This is how and when we BECOME what we say about ourselves. I want to be known as ‘graceful,’ not ‘klutzy.’ I want to be known as ‘deserving’ of all the good things in life. I want to be ‘good enough,’ etc.

How much better is it to speak positively to and about ourselves? Some of us treat our friends and family, and even strangers better than we treat ourselves. YOU deserve to be kind to yourself. Remember, 'We are what we say we are.'

Think about this for a minute - if you are the child of parents who are of a certain tribe, religion, or ethnic group, you will be known as belonging to that tribe, religion, or ethnic group. You were born into it. Always remember, YOU are the ‘child’ of a Loving GOD. Since you are a child of GOD, this makes you GOD! It may take a minute for this to sink in, but it is true. You are GOD. Just knowing this gives you good reason to be ‘loving’ toward yourself. Start today. Become what you say you are.

Sending you LOVE,

Lady Lou,                                                                                                                             The Baby Boomer Babe

Hello from Lady Lou!

Welcome to my BLOG. - Ramblin' With Lady Lou! You will find much to entertain you, enlighten you, challenge you, and possibly amuse you. I will be ramblin' about many interesting topics including my own life experiences - there is never a dull moment here at my little 'farmette,' SANDY ACRES, deep in the Heart of Texas.

I love being a 'lady farmer!' That means I get my hands in the dirt and grow all kinds of beautiful plants. I find watching things grow very rewarding and sometimes kinda crazy! If a plant has a mind it will actually grow in the cracks of rocks and asphalt. WILD! My very BEST crop is WEEDS! They will grow anywhere, anytime, even in droughts. DARN!

In this blog, Ramblin' With lady Lou, I'll be writing about items on emotional stuff that happens to all of us - the good and the not so good. I will share information about life lessons, funny stories, thoughts on life and death. I'll even ramble about friends and family, pet stories, and 'watching the grass grow.' Plus I'll have crazy items from soup to nuts and everything in between. I will also pull stories from the headlines and from world events when appropriate. I believe there will be something of interest for everyone.

Please feel free to send me your comments, and also send me suggestions for things you would like to see in future posts. We will laugh, learn, grow and maybe even cry together - all the things that make up the human experience. I'd like to think we will become an extended family. What about you? Care to come along for the journey? Hope so!  I look forward to getting to know you. See you next time on Ramblin' With Lady Lou.

Wishing you well,

Lady Lou,                                                                                                                             The Baby Boomer Babe
